Biedermeier Möbel im Louis van Beethoven Film
Februar 4, 2021Exhibition of the well known Roentgen Museum in Neuwied. The museum, is known for its special exhibitions refering cultural home decor of different epochs, the presentation in 2019 illustrated the time of Biedermeier in Neuwied and on the Middle Rhine. A serious of landscape paintings give romantic views of the Rhine Valley, and numerous portrais show citizens of Neuwied and the surrounding area, or they were painted by artists from this area. This exhibition showed further furniture made in Neuwied, such as one set of seats owned by Neuwied’s district administrator Eduard Justus von Runkel. This ensemble of furniture was part of the inventory of House Heddesdorf near Neuwied and is called until today as the „Raiffeisen-Salon“ because of the famous cooperative founder’s later visits there. Further furniture rounds the range of typical Biedermeier furniture and its simple elegance and handcraft quality out.
